Improving Your Lead Generation Responses
Patrice Barber - Wednesday, June 15, 2011
By: Ann Albergotti
activity. So a common challenge companies have is
generating consistent quality leads. If you’re a small
business on an extremely limited budget, your option of
consistent advertising proves to get you only so far in
generating leads and in a finite amount of time. More is
needed to grow your exposure and ultimately sales.
start ups and small businesses that is an essential activity in
lead generation a success.
1. List Segmentation
2. Marketing Analytics
List Segmentation
Often a business ha many customer types within their
database such as female, male, married, single, generation Y
vs. the Baby Boomer, you get the idea. However, even within
these groups, the list should be segmented even more. For
example: let’s say you own a party store and your clientele
consist of mostly women in their late twenties and early
thirties. Within this group you’ll have women who have
children and buy children’s party goods. The other set of
women buy adult party goods. Your list will need to reflect
this and separate marketing messages communicated to
each group. Segmenting your list and communicating tailored
and more relevant messages accordingly will increase your
responses.
Marketing Analytics
Monitoring how your target audience responds to the lead
generation tools you’ve implemented is also important to the
success and quality of leads you receive. You need to know
where your leads are coming from, how many, at what times,
the quality of leads, and under which message. Based on
this information you’ll know if you need a better offer or call
to action, a more relevant message or a different means of
communicating that message. Unless you keep track of how
your customer’s find you, how they are responding to your
messages, you’ll never understand what isn’t working vs.
what is and more importantly, why. The why of the equation
is the most important part of the analytics because only then
can you duplicate the successes based on the why.
Just by implementing these two marketing tactics will you
greatly improve your lead generation. It is an action that
once in place will help you successfully market your business
and help you obtain your sales goals.
